The march 2007 issue of Galley Gab is available to download. The online magazine is a published monthly and is devoted to letterpress printing and the Amalgamated Printers Association. It’s a sign of the times when the lead editorial this month is titled, What’s going to happen to our stuff?
Fortunately there’s a resurgence in small letterpress shops, I think perhaps an inevitable outcome to letterpress shops closing their doors and getting rid of equipment at rock bottom prices. All it takes is a dedicated and creative person to give life to these old machines. Take a look at Etsy to find lots of contemporary examples of letterpress printing reinvented by talented designers.
