Thanks for all the comments to the crafts I made last weekend everyone! A few of you asked for instructions so I’m working on tutorials for both projects, which I hope to publish soon. I’ll post here when I do.
Here’s another project I’m working on: kusudama flowers made from book pages taken from an old copy of “Diet for a Small Planet” {the first book I read on vegetarianism. I’ve been a vegetarian for 24 years since}. I saw these flowers on one of the flickr groups I follow, the Modular Origami pool. They’re beautiful and look hard to make, but they’re not really. A little origami, some glue and in just a few minutes, you have a flower. It takes five “petals” to make a flower. Twelve flowers and you have a spherical ornament. I’m not sure if I’m going to make the sphere or not, I kind of like the way they look as-is, so maybe I’ll just attach them to stems and stick them into an old glass jar for a book-ish bouquet.
Here’s a tutorial. Here’s another. And another.

I was inspired by these from Flickr user Maliah

Very beautiful!

I just made one with printer paper to practice. They are so easy! I plan on making a lot of them for wedding bouquet stuff and for the reception. In book paper of course! Such a cheap and neat way to make flowers.
